The nearby town of Lincoln, NH offers a host of small, informal eating places, as well as a winery and a craft brewery – and places to stay outside of the park. There are wooded trails that are challenging enough for thru-hikers, but still accessible for more casual day-hikers, families and mountain bikers – with crystal-clear lakes for anglers and kayakers, too. The park stretches along 8 highway exits, and offers outdoor adventures suitable for everyone in the family. Lincoln, NH is about a 90 minute drive from Manchester

It's ~2 mile loop, mostly gentle slopes with (sometimes slippery- it's a gorge) steps in the steeper areas. It was an earlyish (FG opens at 0900, and after our hike, we showed up ~1000) start, so we had no trouble maintaining our pace, and there are a lot of overlooks where one can stop and soak it in a little, but that might not be so relaxed with higher bandwidth later in the day. No question, it is a very nice gorge, with lots of information along the way. Found a nice hotel nearby, good eating places, and nice hike of Mt. Despite the legion of reviews "mentioning" the price of admission, we had planned to go to Quechee Gorge, and when our target hotel in West Lebanon sold out as we dithered, Flume Gorge appeared on a search of "Gorges Near Me," so we sort of had to.
